I know its been a while since i've goofed off in my blog. But its not as if alot of you guys out there are reading this stuff so it doesnt matter too much to me anyways. I just felt its time for another one of my movie ranting reviews of doom. To be fair, a quick review on a few recent big movies ive watched:-
Spiderman 3 - Great movie, but a bit draggy, could have had more venom and M.J the actress still sucked.
Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End - Loved Jack Sparrow as always, very very very packed with action, Keith Richards looks creepy, tho it was a little fast
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer: If you spend money on this movie then you are stupid
And now onto our feature review:
Seems so many movies now arebanking in on the whole retro thing. Started off with stuff like Shaft and Charlie's Angels and now theres talk of an upcoming speed racer movie. The one movie i never expected to make it into a live action movie was transformers. I mean come one, they were blocky and very camp to say the least. Can u imagine how goofy Optimus prime would look in real life in the original cartoon form?
And yet they made one any way. All i can say about it is that is:
THE MOST AWESOME THING I'VE EVER SEEN
That movie grabs you in the first scene. And i never lets go. And forces you on a ride of transforminess that most of us cartoon buffs are only more than happy to go along. Its a trip down memory lane that reminds alot of us of those cartoons that we watched so much as kids. And best of all, we hear it too. Its most of the original voices from those cartoons that appear in the movie. Its the voice of Prime that we all know and cherish. Now how much cooler can u get than that?
We all know that transformers have always been about the action. Transformers fighting decepticons and vice versa was the only story we remember about that. And thats more than enough for us right? And theres no difference in the movie. They just up the action to Michael Bay strength levels. Their just out to murder each other in the movie. and thats so COOL. Oh and if your a military buff, then thi movie will show you the full might of the United States Air Force and all (i repeat, ALL) of its firepower at work. that scene left my friend in tears of joy
And very strangely for a movie so action packed like this they actually managed to include a decent story into the mix. the kid who gets his first car. the computer analyst who discovers the strange signal. the soldiers who first encounter them. the government official that has to deal with it all. and all so well blended too.
For the more purist of you out there who will complain that: Bumble Bee is not a volkswagon bug, Jazz is not a porshe, Starscream has the wrong head, Scorponok is too small, yada yada yada. . . get over it. u cant expect everything to translate well into real life. if they followed everything exactly to them cartoons then the robots would look like glued together cardboard boxes, fall in slow mo and have blue lasers fly around. that i will admit is lame in this time and age.
For those of you who havent watched it , go watch it. And for those who watched it already, watch it again till your wallets that slight shade of empty. Enjoy the movie for what it is, a great joy ride of action packed transforminess
